  • Please read through the following information and sign at the bottom

    I. GENERAL GUIDELINES
Learn, follow and respect the rules of Special Olympics Massachusetts (SOMA) as well as all officials who uphold these rules.

Learn, follow, and respect the rules of our Montachusett Area Special Sports (MASS) local program.

Have fun, keep a positive attitude, be supportive, and maintain communication.

    II. SPORTSMANSHIP
Try to control my own and my teammates’ tempers, bad language, and behavior.

Be fair to others: DO NOT taunt other teams/players, argue with officials, cheat, lie, or fake injuries.

Encourage teammates and opponents instead of criticizing them or arguing with them.

    III. TRAINING & COMPETITION
Respect my coaches and fellow players by attending practice on time until the end, participating in all activities, paying attention, and trying my hardest at all time.

Wear, bring, care for the correct uniform or clothes and equipment for practices and competitions.

Appreciate the efforts and time of my teammates, coaches, opponents, officials, and volunteers.

    IV. FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY AND EXPECTATIONS
Join MASS local program members in contributing to its overall fundraising goal to balance our teams’ seasonal expenditures: training, competitions, facilities, insurance, equipment, and other miscellaneous expenses.

Acknowledge the MASS local program incurs expenses for my participation, so I need to participate in SOMA-organized fundraising efforts to support the MASS program to keep it going.

Solicit donations, make a personal donation to MASS, or combine the two, if that works better.

    V. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY
Be free of alcohol, tobacco, cannabis (of any form), non-controlled substances, vaping and weapons during the entire course of all SOMA or MASS events, practices, competitions, and activities.

Respect others’ privacy and boundaries (no inappropriate flirting or harassing behaviors or words).

Be with my team at SOMA events or let my coaches know where I and my buddy will be at all time.

Respect myself and hydrate, eat well, use good hygiene, and get the proper rest and sleep.
